The Festival Foods Grocery Operations Leadership Development Program (GOLD) is an 8-month program that focuses on technical and leadership training to accelerate the development of our next leaders. "I have been working at The Marq Banquet and Catering since Festival purchased the facility in 2009. My original position was Head Bookkeeper and HR Generalist. As The Marq grew, I transitioned into my current position, Office Manager. Within this position, I manage all office and sales staff. I also maintain all financial recording for our facility.
The best part of working for The Marq Banquet and Catering, is that it gives me the opportunity to be a part of our guests' special day – their wedding, anniversary or other celebratory event. We get to know the guest during the planning stages of their event and when the big day comes, we are fortunate to celebrate with them.
Festival/The Marq truly believes in Servant Leadership and leads by example. Our Management staff works "side by side" with associates during events to ensure that they have everything they need to succeed within their position. Festival/The Marq also believes in Associate Development and cultivating our staff. We have many associates that started with us as a dishwasher and then transitioned into leading our wait staff teams."
"I graduated from UW Stout with a degree in Psychology. Prior to working at Festival Foods I worked in the restaurant industry for 25 years.
I started my career with Festival Foods in 2008 as a Manager in Training in the bakery at Green Bay East. I learned quickly that the potential for growth was limited only by my personal goals and ambitions. I was presented with an aggressive development plan and given tremendous support and guidance. Within 18 months I was offered and accepted a position as Bakery Manager in De Pere. Since then I have continued to learn and grow with the company. I have enjoyed building relationships with associates and leaders from all over the region. I have been given many opportunities to be involved with Festival Foods beyond my own department. I have helped open new stores, have been a part of new product development and roll out, assisted in ad planning for the bakeries and recruitment. This type of involvement really made me feel valued and made me realize this is what I wanted to do for a career.
The thing I enjoy most about working at Festival is knowing I can come to work and make a difference every day. Through leadership we reinforce our culture, positively impacting our guests when they are visiting our stores and in our communities. In addition, through leadership we are able focus on associate development to provide new talent as our company expands.
